1. Ten soldiers convicted in Walikale

A military court convicted ten FARDC soldiers for offenses including murder, desertion and loss of weapons. Two received death sentences. The sentences were announced, but appeal status was not established.

2. AFC/M23–government fighting affects Masisi, Kalehe and Walikale

FARDC and AFC/M23 forces fought at Kazuba near Malemo in Masisi, with no immediate toll or territorial outcome established. Separate fighting displaced Chinono residents in Kalehe and kept schools closed in several Walikale localities.

3. Niania health chief links more than 500 community deaths to Ebola

The chief medical officer for Niania health zone in Mambasa territory, Ituri, linked more than 500 deaths outside health facilities during July and August to the Ebola epidemic and reported community transmission. The report does not establish individual laboratory confirmation for every death.

4. Humanitarian access constraints reach 52 eastern health zones

An OCHA/REACH assessment said the number of health zones facing severe access constraints in North Kivu, South Kivu and Ituri rose from 45 to 52 in three months. The underlying zone-level annexes were not independently reviewed in this sweep.

5. Government targets Banana–Kasumbalesa road link by end-2027

The government said it aims to connect Banana and Kasumbalesa by road by the end of 2027 and listed work on RN1, RN2 and RN5. The announcement did not establish financing or completion of the full corridor.
