- The Independent Electoral Commission (CENI) announced that it needs 640 million USD in order to successfully execute its mission to hold elections in 2023. The Observatoire de la Dépense Publique, a civil society organization, cast doubts on this figure and pointed to the recent purchasing of a large number of new Toyota Landcruisers for members of the CENI as evidence of mismanagement. Separately, the General Inspectorate of Finance announced that it would audit the CENI’s books.

- In Djugu territory (Ituri), new attacks by the CODECO militia group claimed the lives of 40 people in the Banyali Kilo Sector between Monday and Tuesday, and on Wednesday, the government task force led by Thomas Lubanga was taken hostage by the same group. Similar attacks have killed at least 165 civilians in February alone. This spiraling violence has led to calls for the sacking of the Military Governor of Ituri.
