1. Mambasa monitoring raises the six-day toll to at least 43 civilians
Civil-society monitoring attributed 43 civilian deaths, 53 burned houses and additional disappearances or abductions to attacks across 15 localities between August 27 and September 1. The available reports repeat the same APDE and local-source account; the toll and ADF attribution have not been independently verified.
2. Ebola deaths exceed 3,000
The latest INSP situation report recorded 6,186 confirmed cases, 3,007 deaths and 1,409 recoveries through August 31, across 60 health zones in six provinces. That is 392 more cases and 221 more deaths than the figures in the August 30 edition.
3. FARDC claims a wider counteroffensive in South Kivu
The army said operations in Uvira and Fizi killed 31 AFC/M23 fighters, led to 17 surrenders or captures and recovered seven localities. It also alleged that a mass grave was found at Masango. All available reports rely on the same military spokesperson.
4. Three Walikale villages empty after bombardment reports
Residents left Mindjendje, Mpety and Mera for Pinga after reported shelling during fighting between AFC/M23 and FARDC-backed Wazalendo forces. Local authorities had not yet counted the displaced households.
5. Luebo reports 22 suspected Mpox cases and three deaths
The health-zone medical officer said samples had been sent to the INRB. The diagnosis remains unconfirmed, and the three deaths cannot yet be attributed to Mpox.
